Gargantua is mysterious, mute and solitary, hovering between reality and illusion. It embodies humanity’s understanding and imagination of the laws governing the world, and symbolizes a cosmic poetry that bridges human experience and somatic perception.
Digital technology has become an integral part of daily life for Generation Z. The massive flood of man-made imagery and information saturates our vision and minds, while reshaping how we perceive the world.
Through years of travel, the artist has uncovered narratives of poetry and reason within nature and the cosmos. He chooses to step away from the overload of knowledge and information for a time, turning inward to the profound stillness at his core in search of a more harmonious poetry and romance. He re-examines our collective visual expectations, follows his authentic feelings, and traces back to the experiential code that flows deep within every human gene.
Combining photography with computational techniques, the artist creates psychedelic visuals rooted in natural landscapes and the texture of light and matter. Despite his extensive travel experience and masterful grasp of visual principles, he remains deeply captivated by the silent, static yet mysteriously eternal presence of nature. Two constant threads run through his work: one is the intangible yet very real entities of spirit and matter; the other is the visual pleasure captured through imagery, amid the shifting flux of reality and illusion, presence and absence.
He perceives the universe as a series of meditations on solitude. A spaceship is solitary next to the bustling human world. A black hole ejected from its galaxy is solitary still, compared with one nestled in a galaxy’s dense core. Gargantua is solitary—but solitude is not loneliness. It is surrounded by trillions upon trillions of stars, and carries a task and mission from a higher cosmic dimension.
The artist immerses himself in the single, imposing scene before him, layers in his own visions of beauty and mystery, and preserves fleeting, luminous moments through 3D modeling and photography.
We have grown accustomed to adopting a solemn stance to uphold some anachronistic ideal of spiritual elevation. In truth, however, those who view the world true to their own nature are the ones who discover the artistic spirit that unlocks the deepest self. On one hand, humans are instinctively drawn to the eternal; on the other, we must confront the temporal nature of our existence, embrace the expectations and experiences we have overlooked, and acknowledge the modern gaze’s innate fascination with color.
Whether you are a recluse dwelling in the heights of the spirit, a lover of nature’s essence and cosmic geography, or someone living fully in the digital and internet age, this work offers a uniquely profound and singular experience.
